Several years ago, I began creating websites for artists who didn't want to spend their time learning a website platform but did want a place to direct collectors, family, friends, and people interested in their work. After all, it's much easier to show someone what you do than to try to explain it.
Often, when I'm looking for an artist's work, I'm directed to social media. That can be a good way to discover someone, but it's not always very satisfying when I want to know more about the artist or spend some time looking at the art.
Unlike social media, a website is your own space. It gives your work a stable home, a place to gather your images, artist statement, biography, exhibitions, classes, and the other parts of your creative life. It can also serve as an ongoing portfolio: somewhere a curator, juror, gallery, or exhibition organizer can go to see a body of your work rather than a scattering of individual posts. And when someone simply becomes curious about what you do, it gives them a place to stay awhile and look.
That's where I can help.
I've worked with artists who needed a complete website, a thoughtful update to one they already had, help solving a particular problem, or simply a hand with the technology. I work exclusively with Wix, a platform I've used for many years and one that works particularly well for visual artists.
